THE PATH OF NOT GIVING A FUCK

It started with the girls who wore the boots. You know who you are. The ones who stomped through the grunge era with the perfect mix of strength and nonchalance, rebellion and beauty.

I saw you in the music, the clubs, the streets.

I saw you in the pages of Vogue’s December 1992 "Grunge & Glory" editorial, where that moment seemed to come alive.

Both iconic visionaries who elevated anti-fashion into a statement of art, beauty, and luxury.

Kristen McMenamy, Naomi Campbell, and Nadja Auermann:

They weren't just models wearing the clothes.

They were the girls who wore the boots.

They proved fashion could be raw, unpolished, yet breathtakingly beautiful–all while not giving a fuck.

They embodied the spirit of the era: bold, defiant, unforgettable

The tension between femininity against the hard, utilitarian edge of those boots shaped R13’s "don't give a fuck” attitude when I began designing footwear.

The now-iconic Stack and Double Stack boots are my love letter to those moments, and to you: the girls who wore them then, and the women who embody that spirit today.

Always,
Chris
